In 2011, two local teachers, Wendi Teten and Michele Thames, felt the call of the Lord to begin Discovery Christian School. Restoration Church graciously allowed them to use church facilities and partnered with them to provide a Christ-centered education to students. After much prayer and hard work, they opened in August of 2011 with twenty-one students. The school quickly grew and within a few years it became apparent that they would need to move to a larger facility. Due to the generosity of the board of Wesley College, the Congregational Methodist denomination, and many local supporters, the school was able to move to the former campus of Wesley College.
Discovery Christian School, along with Restoration Church, has just recently been able to purchase this property! In April of 2016, Discovery Christian School received full accreditation through MAIS and SACS. The 2019-2020 school year began the ninth year of operation for the school with an enrollment of over two hundred students in K4-12th grade.
The staff is dedicated to following God's plan and purpose for the school while providing a Christ-centered education. With over 200 students, 2019-2020 has been our biggest year yet!
